چکیده
Abstract Colluvial sediments originating from soil erosion on slopes have proven to constitute significant evidence for tracing past human impact mountain landscapes. In the Central European Erzgebirge (Ore) Mountains, colluvial are associated with specific landforms (footslopes, slope flattenings, dells) and cover a share of 11% (11,905 ha) regional landscape. Thirteen pedosedimentary sections layers were investigated at five forested sites (520–730 m a.s.l.) within context mining archaeology, integrating data pedology, palaeobotany, geochronology. The thickness gravel-bearing loamy, silty, sandy is up 70 cm, which mostly located top sections. geochronological ages archaeological reveal high late medieval post-medieval age sediments. Pollen show drastic decline forests in twelfth fifteenth centuries AD accompanied by an increase pioneer trees spruce expense fir beech. primary cause subsequent deposition other early industrial activities. A compilation 395 radiocarbon OSL ages, obtained 197 upland Europe, shows that anthropogenically initiated dynamics go as far back Bronze Age Iron Age. Most derive period, corresponding general intensification settlement land-use activities including deforestation widespread ore mining.

15 صفحه اولStream fish occurrence in response to impervious cover, historic land use, and hydrogeomorphic factors
We evaluated competing models explaining the occurrence of five stream fishes in an urbanizing watershed to determine the relative importance of (a) impervious surface and other indicators of current land use, (b) historic land use (e.g., agriculture, impoundments), and (c) hydrogeomorphic characteristics (e.g., stream size, elevation, geology). For four of five species, the best-supported mode...
متن کاملNitrogen yield and nitrogen use of chickpea compared to pea, barley and oat in Central Europe
European agriculture suffers from a substantial deficit of protein sources forlivestock and the projected changes in agro-climatic conditions in Central Europeinclude a higher risk of drought. To address these challenges, the drought resistantlegume crop chickpea was compared with pea, barley and oat regarding its nitrogen(N) yield, protein yield and N use and utilization efficiency under Centr...

The present study illustrates a multidimensional analysis of an indicator of urban land use efficiency (per-capita built-up area, LUE) in mainland Attica, a Mediterranean urban region, along different expansion waves (1960–2010): compaction and densification in the 1960s, dispersed growth along the coasts and on Athens’ fringe in the 1970s, fringe consolidation in the 1980s, moderate re-polariz...
